Windows AD management and print server management.

I use Slackware at work. However our work environment is Windows. I hate switching back to windows to do quick tasks such as moving a computer from container to container in the active directory or deleting a print job from the windows print server. Is there any software that I can use in linux to connect to the active directory and print server to manage things?

if those servers are windows based you could use krdc, it connects to windows terminal services (remote desktop connection).
If you have windows 2008 or vista, you have to eneble the old rdp standart (less secure). Krdc won't work with the new one (just like windows xp)
Krdc can also connect to VNC servers.

If you have dual monitors you could setup a vbox of windows and put it on your other monitor. Or if you have an extra monitor and old POS you could setup another box next to yours running windows and use synergy so that you can use your mouse and keyboard to travel between setups. Personally, thats what I do at work.

I do use dual monitors. Running a virtual machine could work just fine. I will have to test it. I just didn't know if there was an app or someway to manage print queues and users and computers on the active directory.

You could try crossover/wine and see if AD tools will install with it. I've never tried personally though.

Another possibility is to look at a tool like phpLDAp Admin http://phpldapadmin.sourceforge.net/....php/Main_Page

I have't used it with AD, but it will offer some functionality. I would guess the XP virtual or remote desktop options already mentioned would be the best way to go.
