Will these work with 13.1?

Hi,

Will these SlackBuilds work with Slackware64 13.1?

Flash-player-plugin
Openoffice.org
Nvidia-driver
Nvidia-kernel

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(if you choose openoffice.org, not go_openoffice) I think yes.

but you can try, they won't bite you

The awesome thing about using sbo's is that if they don't work you can remove the package.

I am running the nvidia driver built from using sbopkg with some issues that also occured on 13.0. There are no dependencies for the nvidia driver, openoffice.org or the flashplugin that aren't available in slackware 13.1 or on slackbuilds so you should be good to go.

Flashplayer: Download from http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flas...r10_64bit.html, unpack, copy the *.so-file to mozilla/plugins. Or, use the instructions at (for example) ftp://elektroni.phys.tut.fi/slackwar...player-plugin/

Openoffice.org: Download from http://rlworkman.net/pkgs/13.1/x86_64/

Nvidia driver/kernel: I usually use the official drivers from nvidia, no need to use a special Slackware package. So far the upgrading/updating process has worked flawlessly (as long as you don't try to do this when logged in into X)

the only thing you have to be careful following this way is that you have to reinstall the driver from the NVIDIA.run again if you update some of the libraries it substitutes, like the mesa package.

I agree, installing using the nvidia installer is fine, but you lose the advantage of package management. I advise using a slackbuild-it takes a bit longer but is tidier too.

Yeah, I have run into the culprit of messing up my nvidia installation when doing some upgrades of graphical stuff without removing the nvidia driver first. But, I guess using the nvidia package instead of it's own installation won't solve this problem? That is, you will still need to remove that package before upgrading xorg and similar?
