Will slackware like nVidia GeForce 6800 GT better then SuSE/FC4?

Hello everyone. I'm trying to find a distro that will not require me to down grade my kernal or totally make it difficult (SuSE) to install the nVidia Drivers. I'm going to downlaod a distro tonight but i dont know which one. I've tried: Fedora Core 4 (wouldn't let me out of 24 bits and looked like crap, found the driver, totally scrammbled my screen). Installed SuSE 10.0, found out SuSE totally uses a different software or somthing then the norm for linux distro's and found it was very difficult (espeically for a n00b) to install the drivers supplied by nVidia. So i was wondering if slackware had any better support/luck? My System is the folllowing:
Alienware Area 51
GeForce 6800GT 256 DDR PCi-Express (FC4-okay, but still sucked, SuSE f no)
Sound BLaster Audigy (FC4 couldn't play sound, SuSE could)
Klipsch THX sound system
Pacific Digital DVD+/- burner
Internal cd-R burner
200 Gig sata (for linux)
160 gig sata (f0r windoze)
1 gig DUal CHannel 533 DDR ram
Thanks everyone!

The drivers from the nvidia site will work fine in any distro. The requirements are simply a working compiler and the kernel headers be installed. Neither Suse or Fedora would have installed the kernel source by default however they'd both have an RPM of it you could install. Suse doesn't install a working compiler by default but I think Fedora might, either way it doesn't matter what distro you use, that is all you need.
