Will Slack install from a USB floppy disk on a laptop?

Having heard how fast it is, I'm thinking of installing Slackware on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A30-554 with a superslow Celeron processor), which doesn't have an internal floppy drive. Is it going to work with an external USB connected one? How laptop-friendly is Slackware generally?

This might help. I've never tried it, so use at your own risk.
