Widely known format for schematics and diagrams.

Kernel 2.6.21.5, Slackware 12.0

Hi: I have to draw an electrical circuit diagram and want to do it in some language which is widely used, because I intend to send the diagram in an electronics forum. I have seen some people used PostScript in the past. Please understand me: I know nothing about those languages. I intend to use it as an end user. What I need is some GUI application of the type of the (in)famous MS Paintbrush.

And as a user of Slackware, I believe there must be some program to the purpose in my disto (slack 12). I was looking in PACKAGES.TXT and I found some probable candidates, but it would be hard to try all of them. So I need a program which satisfies two conditions:

1) I want the maximum number of members in that forum to be able to see the diagram.
2) The program is in or can be installed in my system.

gEDA http://www.gpleda.org/index.html

or

Eagle http://www.cadsoftusa.com/downloads/freeware/

Bit of a learning curve but will export in formats most electro-nerds can read.

Plenty of tutorials and examples around for both
