Wich slack?

hi i use slack with X86 structure but now i want it on my laptop a P3 with 512 mb ram and 20gigs its is for the space because i've only got 3,5gigs on my old pc
so does someone knows wich infrastructure i must use? and what is sparc and ppc? thank you

You want to continue with the x86 architecture. The sparc is an old Sun chip and the PPC is the PowerPC chip that was used mainly in Macs.

I doubt the installation CD will even boot up, but if it doesm it probably crash.

I agree, if the installation program is compiled for a different chip, it probabaly isn't even going to boot.

I suggest the "structure" that contains "MS windows" somewhere in the name. That partucular "structure" has WORKING acpi/apm > hibernate, suspend, etc actually work there. Something I would find overwhelmenly important when choosing structures for a Laptop.
