Why Is KDE not sizing menus right?

Ok i finally got this huge problem i had with KDE Desktop fonts by just completly reinstalling slackware. Now the fonts work but a problem i had before still exists. When i do xorgsetup it sets up the file and i type startx, or xstart whichever it is. and then when kde starts up and does the setup wizard where it asks you to select which layout you would like to use and all that but i cant see where the apply or cancel buttons are. i mean i just hit enter and it works but this is a problem on alot of the menus that pop up. I noticed that my desktop resolution was set to 640x480 so i changed it to 720x576 and i had to scroll(take my mouse all the way to 1 side and let it scroll over in that direction) inorder for me to see the entire desktop. But... the problem still remains, the menus are to big on alot of promps and i cant see the apply or cancel buttons. Normally in windows my screen resolution is set to 800x600 but thats way to big for this. IM just trying to figure out if there is a way to resize the prompts? or make it to where it will stretch the screen to look right when i set it to 800x600 like it does in windows. Thanks ahead of time

your resolution should be set too at least 800x600 and maybe even 1024x768

Solved

For those of you that were having the same problem i was, here is what i done to make it work right.

under the section Monitor in etc/X11/xorg.conf i added these 2 lines of code because my monitor is a 17"

HorizSync 30-72 //this can be found in your monitor book
VertRefresh 50-160 //this can be found in your monitor book

then in the same file but this time under the section screen, subsection "Display" and i went to the depth i chose for monitor which is 24 and added this line of code below it

Virtual 800 600 //this sets the monitor display size to 800x600 by default

Thats it... all fixed from then on.
