Question *resolved*Why can't i get Korean in KDE after full slack install?


Hi Ya,

I just did a full slack 11.0 with KDE 3.5 install and can't get korean, chinese or japenese, all other languages are ok, i select language from the control centre i get characters that are square boxes all the same, how can i fix this?

Hi Jens,

the slack cd installed all languages,

where do i extract it to?

You don't extract it anywhere. You just install the package with "installpkg filename.tgz".

OK i did that, it made no difference, i closed KDE and reloaded it, it still displays squares? any ideas?

has anyone else experenced this?

It seems you need .ttf fonts with korean/japanese characters:
