Why ark in Slackware 13 doesn`t recognize .txz packages...

Sure, I can read them via commandline, but why sophisticated tools as dolphin and ark cannot? Shouldn`t .txz format be added by default to Slack`s KDE4 as it is its package format? TGZ woks fine so should TXZ, I think.
Take a look at the /usr/doc/xz-4.999.8beta/README file. The LZMA compression format was adopted from the 7-Zip project and is still a beta package. Just speculation but the folks at KDE are probably waiting before they update their utilities to support the format.
Ark, a file compression and decompression application now supports LZMA/XZ, has improved support for zip, rar and 7zip and works better with drag'n'drop.
