which kernel


when i install i choose the default kernel i think its bare.i however when i finish installing and start the computer to boot from hda1 i get alot of module errors. i dont have any scsi devices. this is one of the only reasons ive read why you should use a different kernel so far. any ideas. im using slack 9

Did you install the kernel-modules package in the 'a' disk set?

im not sure what you mean? with the modules i just do a standard install

If you can't boot into kde(or any GUI) do this, on CLI cd into /var/log/packages and see if the kernel modules, kernel headers, kernel IDE, packages are installed.
