Which ATI Driver do u find best for 2.6.x?

Title pretty much says it all. This is really open to anyone, even if you have 2.4. I have seen in a few threads, not particularly here, that 8.25 was one of the best and the 8.28 was good too. But then I also hear kernels that worked with teh ATI drivers best were like .. 2.6.10 2.6.12.2 2.6.15, etc.

What do you have to conclude about this?

Also, has anyone tried the new kernel 2.6.20 with ati proprietery drivers? ^^ I am about to give 'em a shot, maybe

The newest is always the best with 2.6, regardless of the distro. Just disable the framebuffer device in the kernel if you choose to do this.

I use 8.30.3, because any later version fails to resume from suspend. I would have used the open source (radeon) driver, but I couldn't get it to properly connect to both the lcd and external monitor.
