where to set to display chinese chinese characters
 
Hi all,

just install slackware 14.0 into my system.
looks cools and totally different from the version 12 i been using for past 4 yrs

I will want to the kde to display chinese characters but it display it as œ€Žš„复.

can anyone guide me where can i change or set to display chinese characters?

And if it doesn't help, please tell us what's wrong or what's missing. It is a new HOWTO and the people who wrote it don't have experience with Chinese language.

Hi all, cool. thanks for the help.

The document has solve my issued.
I updated the /etc/profile.d lang.sh

I update the .sh file by appending .UTF-8 to the end of the line as shown below.
# en_US is the Slackware default locale:
Code:

export LANG=en_US.UTF-8
Cool it works and display the chinese characters correctly.
