Where to look for help? KRDP won't grab all possible keys

Running 13.1 (64)

Trying to connect to a windows 2003 server by RDP. But somehow some way I can't get a decent CTRL-ALT-DEL send to the remote machine. I select 'Grab All Possible Keys' either via the icon or the menu selection (Session -> Grab All Possible Keys),.. but it just won't work: When I press CTRL-ALT-DEl the KDE Logout window appears, so KDE definitely listens and does intervene.

Where to turn for help: Here (slackware) or somewhere else, since it's probable a KDE thing. Please help or give directions

PS: I looked through the KRDC Handbook, but it's quite 'lean': the GAPK function isn't even mentioned.

Try looking through the KDE desktop menus for anything related to "keyboard" or "shortcuts" or "settings". I don't use KDE anymore, so my knowledge is dated. What you want to do is tell KDE to stop interpreting the CTRL-ALT-DELETE key sequence as a logout/shutdown request, and instead pass that sequence directly on to other windows. The RDP window might accept it and pass it on to the remote Windows system. Then if the RDP window doesn't pass it through, then look for settings in the RDP session for passing through all keys.

If that works, then of course you cannot use CTRL-ALT-DELETE anymore for restarting the local Linux machine via the KDE desktop.

On a related note, if you are using remote desktop into a Windows system, then most likely you have a need to do a restart or shutdown of that machine directly from within Windows. For Remote Desktop sessions, you can reboot or shutdown the machine remotely by finding the ever so cryptically named "Windows Security" menu entry. IIRC, it is from Start --> Control Panel, or somewhere in the menus that lead up to the Control Panel (I think you may have to enable "Classic mode" in the menus to see it ... Right mouse click context menu over the Start button).

Hope some of that helps!

Thankx.. Will give it a go!

I knew the restart feature being 'hidden' somewhere under control panel -> windows security when on remote desktop. It's @ work where it's total MS domination,..

PS: it's to logon that I have to send the CTRL-ALT-DEL combo.. Under Windows mstsc.exe you can push the CTRL-ALT-END combo to have the application send a CTRL-ALT-DEL to the remote machine.

Anyway: Will report back later.
