thanks will check it out. Is there any special precautions to take when building slack packages with src2pkg for these?

If a distro specific package isn't available I compile from source, so I cannot answer this one.

well, I downloaded xfce4-screenshooter and build it via src2pkg then I installed it. When run from the cli this happens:

Code:
bash-4.1$ xfce4-screenshooter
Segmentation fault
bash-4.1$
I am using rworkman's xfce4.8 packages. What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure that those 'goodies' are ready for 4.8 yet. There's nothing on the home page your reference to suggest that they are. But if you do get it going, I'll happily follow you and install a few of them myself.

Many of these are also on SlackBuilds.org You may have to download the latest version of whatever you are looking for and then changes the SlackBuild script's version.

You can usually find the latest versions of any of the xfce related items at git.xfce.org.

I'd grab the corresponding slackbuild and compile it from source.
There's also a bug report for this issue.

Cheers,
