Where to get Slackware CD setup scripts?

Probably a very easy question:

I want to install setup scripts on a harddrive.
From where on the 6 disk set
(or ftp download) can I get them?

Thanks,

I mean: the "setup" scripts.

You know, when you boot from the CD, it tells you to
run "setup". Then you get all the blue rectangles
where you make all the selections.

I see the install-packages and tagfile in each of the
/slackware/* directories, but where is that initial
"setup" script?

Thanks,

Hi,

By chance are you referring to the 'PACKAGE SERIES SELECTION'? If so then the script is in the 'isolinux' directory.

Boot from CD and you find them in /usr/lib/setup. You can extract them from the initrd.img file. See the following link for the steps you need:

No, I want that one too, but that's still too far down the path.

When one boots using the CD #1, one gets a plain text console.
Then after logging in as "root", one is prompted to "run setup".
This 'setup' is in the ramdisk file system at /usr/lib/setup/setup,
and it is the script which starts the entire process,
*then* comes setpkg and the various install-packages.
I haven't found this first file, setup, in any package.
I *can* just boot from a CD, load a network driver, and transfer the
script to another machine, but I would like to find it in the
source heirarchy.

Thanks,

ok, thanks, this is an informative link.

And it is not too tough to extract the img, but aren't the
initrd.img file sources aren't already expanded
out somewhere on the CD's?
