Where in -current is kscd?

Where in slackware-current is the KDE CD player kscd?

I couldn't find an executable on my HD, it wasn't listed in MANIFEST.bz2 (although some help files for it were), and it didn't seem to be disabled in the build scripts.

Hmmmm.......Its not on my Slackware64-current either, just docs and icons. I've never used it, so I never missed it. I use vlc mainly now for cd playing - or mplayer.

it should be in kdemultimedia

dugan 08-20-2009 12:27 AM

All kdemultimedia has are the docs. I've confirmed this by looking in both /var/log/packages and in the MANIFEST file on the mirrors.

Also, there was no mention of kscd's removal in the changelogs.

Using the sources and compiling by hand, kscd is skipped. Though the source files for kscd are included. It's not even a cmake option. The only options are -
  • BUILD_doc
  • BUILD_dragonplayer
  • BUILD_juk
  • BUILD_kioslave
  • BUILD_kmix
  • BUILD_strigi-analyzer

Attempting to build kscd results in cmake errors. Even the lattest svn of kde-multimedia fails to buld kscd. The last entry in the changelog is from Wed May 31 06:18:21 2000. Perhaps it's dead?

I seem to recall that kscd required some library that we don't have and didn't care to add, but I don't recall any other details. Sorry :/
