I would imagine you would want to goto the slackware-9.0-iso directory and download slackware-9.0-install.iso. (678 meg) Burn it to a disk. Then boot from your brand new super cool Slackware install CD!

That's how I've always done it!

Good luck!

Oh yeah, the links tell you if its http or ftp. Sometimes they get busy and you can't get in, just keep trying!

Do you guys know where to get an older Slack? I am able to download only 8.1 and 9.0 in iso format. The ones before that does not seem to have an iso format (or maybe did not existed in iso format?). I'm happy with Slackware 9.0 and I've 8.1 but never tried. But I'm a downloader Linux freak and I MUST have all versions of all Linux'es... It's kinda a hobby of mine and I've learned a lot too with older distros...

thanks for any help

I dont get why you would want older versions of Slackware. Slackware 8.1 runs just fine on a 386, and Slackware 9 does a 486 fine.

Just go to the Slackware site: http://www.slackware.com/getslack/

Go to the bottom of the page; all previous versions of Slack are available for download. -- J.W.

thanks J.W.

I will check it out. Last time I've been there it was no iso for any Slackware before 8.1... I wonder if it was an ordinary iso, like you can burn and boot or if it was floppies install or something like that

Well, thanks again.

Hi BajaNick

For just £2 you can get Slackware 9 from

www.yourlinux.com

There's tons of other distors there too for next to nothing.
