where can I found the default mouse theme

Dear Slackers,

I am running slackware-current (14 rc 4) and using sbopkg installed lxappearance;

That changed however my default slackware xcfe4 mouse theme; I love the standard mouse theme of Kde 3 (and possibly one of the fist macintosh mouse themes). Where do I find it? If I change to kde using xwmconfig then choose classic I have it but it will not persist. (Incidentally, these problems also occurred when using Salix). Any suggestions where I should look?

So far rc4 is running brilliantly.

Regards

Marcel Geijsberts

Settings > Mouse and Touchpad > Themes.
"Default" is the first on the list.

Edit in: Just re-read your message. Sorry, I'm not familiar with "lxappearance." Perhaps, you need to start the Xfwm-4 windows manager?

Sorry, that I was a little short on information here. I would like to know where I can find the theme under / ; smthg like /usr/share/icons (under which I did not find it)
I did a
Code:
xfwm4 --replace
(since I was using openbox as WM) and the funny thing is that newly started apps "contain" the old mouse theme but already running apps take any theme listed in lxappearance. The default classic kde theme is however not listed and prior to xfwm4 --replace any choice in mouse themes in lxappaerance overrides any choice in the themes-selector of xfce mouse dialog.

Judging from your description, we might have a similar problem. I'm using Xfce 4.8 and I installed the Aero Mouse Cursor Themes, basically a nice Windows Seven mockup. Unfortunately I have some inconsistent mouse pointer behaviour, which means sometimes the mouse cursor reverts to the default black theme instead of the glossy white drop shadow theme.

I found a workaround for this. I simply linked the cursor theme I wanted to use (aero-large-drop) to the default icon theme. Here's how it looks like:

Code:
[root@alphamule:~] # ls -l /usr/share/icons
total 100
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 13  2008 aero
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 12  2008 aero-drop
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 12  2008 aero-drop-left
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 13  2008 aero-extra-large
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 13  2008 aero-extra-large-drop
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 12  2008 aero-extra-large-drop-left
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 12  2008 aero-extra-large-left
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 13  2008 aero-large
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 13  2008 aero-large-drop
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 12  2008 aero-large-drop-left
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 12  2008 aero-large-left
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root 4096 janv. 12  2008 aero-left
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root   15 sept. 19 02:16 default -> aero-large-drop
Cheers,

Niki
