well it will be in the gnome-devel pakage normally, no idea wether this is a seperate package for slack or not, is for any RPM based distro. have you tried galeon 1.3 though? uses gnome 2 not 1.4
I am assuming the new Gnome doesn't use gnome-config cause when I try to install enlightenment from source it uses gnome-config to get the menu entries I believe, for the gnome section, and theres never anything in there and if you look for an error message is says it can't find gnome-config...
JoooN , i found gnome-config in one of slack 8.1 packages
u can find what packages have it by looking at MANIFEST file
(the file is on any slack mirror)
