Maybe we should not completely discard the possibility that an RC5 appear.
I favor simplicity over ease of use, and reliability of a release over having it available sooner. We already have -current for those than can benefit from having new features now.
I'd rather Slackware 14 be as bug free as is "reasonable". Otherwise there is no reason to wait for a "stable" release, as we could just keep using a -current snapshot that met our personal technical needs.
I favor getting it right over getting it sooner. There are advantages to speedy releases and having both a stable release (13.37) and -current available to us is the best of both arguments.
We have -current, let's not rush stable. ( Says a man who's been waiting for the next release since late winter. )
I'll duck now while an assortment of items are tossed at my head.
EDIT: Looks like I may have posted in the wrong thread. There's so many threads related to the new release I'm getting them mixed up.
