What type of server does Slackware.com require

Hi there guys

Ok what are we looking at for a server to keep slackware.com up and thus end the endless problems
and innuendo's

I want to see how I can help and what it would cost

You need to contact Pat directly about this. While he may not be the only person who knows the answer, he is the only person who can negotiate this with you.

His email address is in the email you got the first time you logged into your new Slackware installation.

That said, the make of the current server was recently mentioned:

"It is an ancient VIA based system with a Celeron and 512MB of RAM. I"

Ugh - let's hope a newer box will be more substantial than that :-)

There are no endless problems or innuendo's. Just use a mirror!

I am replacing some very high end servers for more expensive ones ..

The company has a lease and wanted to spend more money

This is a quad core rack mounts with 32G ram and lots of drive space

Just wondered if Slackware could benefit from a server like that .

I will try and mail Pat

Regards

The alternative is to find a good hosting company. I wont name them here, but I use a hosting company that offers unlimited space, unlimited disk space and unlimited monthly bandwidth usage from around $7 per month. And no, I'm not on commission or touting for business on their behalf before anyone asks, just saying.

Anyway, if Pat should read this and wants any more info he can PM me.
