What to use to unzip *.bz2

I have a file with a *.bz2 extension. I need to unzip it and I used gunzip but gunzip says it's in an invalid format. What should I use to unzip it? Thanks.

That only applies if it's also a tarball. . .

bzip2 -d
or
Code:
bunzip2
