What startup script is dhcpcd supposed to be in?

Everytime I reboot my machine i have to run dhcpcd to get the network working. SHouldn't this be in a startup script by default? Does anyone know which one so I can investigate? SHould i just add it to rc.local?

Thanks!

Murray

If you had run netconfig it would be started from
/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1

Cheers,

Did you configure your eth0 to use dhcp ? You can do that by editing rc.inet1.conf or run netconfig .

If it is Slackware 9.1 or 10 you will want to make sure the interface in question is set to use dhcp in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf not rc.inet1. The comments in the file are fairly good. If memory serves you just put "yes" for the value of DHCP[<interface#>]

yup. the option USE_DHCP[0]="yes" is in rc.inet1.conf

yup. permissions for rc.inet1 are:
-rwxr-xr-x

still no luck. any other thoughts?
