What order and how do I .....

In the interest of fun and learning, and because I am on a fresh system with no valuable data to lose, I want to push myself and install kernel 2.6.13.

I also want to upgrade Xorg to X11R-6.8.2, install the latest ATI driver, and update KDE to 3.4.2.

I am doing a fresh install of Slackware 10.1 on a blank drive dual booting with Windows.

My first question is where do I start?

What order would be best to do these things in?

Should I let Slackware do a Full install first then go about updating everything?

I am a noob but also eager to learn. Your advice and help would be much apprectiated.

I would recommend you to install Slackware 10.1 and get yoursef familiar with it for the time being since Slackware 10.2 will be released soon.

Unfortunately only Patrick knows when Slackware 10.2 is going to be released.
He made the announcement on August 2, 2005 in the ChangeLog so we should expected to be released soon :

Hi folks,
I think it's time to consider this to be mostly frozen and concentrate on
beta testing in preparation for the Slackware 10.2 release, so there won't
be too many more upgrades and additions. Things are going to be pretty
busy for me over the next couple of weeks besides working on getting 10.2
finalized, but let me know about any issues that need fixing before the
release and I'll get to them just as soon as I can. Have fun!
