what loads the bootup modules?
Slackware 10 I tried to rid the system of the module
snd-ice1726 using modprobe -v -r snd-ice1726. It seemed to work and when I took a look at the loaded modules with lsmod | more, it was gone. Great! I finally got something done. But no! The next time I booted Slackware 10, it was back! Something must be loading modules at bootup time, Y/N? Where and what is loading this nasty module? It's getting in the way of my real sound module and I've no sound. How do I stop this thing from loading? I've looked at /etc/profile.d and /etc/rc.d/rc.modules but neither have anything to do with loading snd-ice1726. Anyone got any ideas? |
Without wanting to state the obvious... you've checked /etc/modules ?

list the module in /etc/hotplug/blacklist |
