What is the best kernel image for an old toshiba laptop?


I want to install slackware 10 on my old 300mhz toshiba laptop.

Yes. bare.i should work.

But I guess neroagent wants to know, if bareacpi.i might be an even better option. Depends on ACPI hardware support: If your laptop has this, than bareacpi.i might be right for you. But probably your laptop is too old, and has only APM, but not ACPI.

Check your kernel config for APM support, then.

neroagent,

i have an acer laptop and bare.i works fine for me. and as far as i know toshiba is more compatible then acer so you should have no major problems with bare.i
