What is -lnotify?

I had this error compiling artha:

Code:
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-slackware-linux/4.3.3/../../../../x86_64-slackware-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lnotify
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [artha] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/michael/downloads/artha-0.9.1/src'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/michael/downloads/artha-0.9.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2
michael@darkstar:~/downloads/artha-0.9.1$ locate lnotify
michael@darkstar:~/downloads/artha-0.9.1$
Google is failing me on finding out what exactly -lnotify is. What am I looking for?

You are missing libnotify. You can find the library here:
http://slackbuilds.org/repository/12...ies/libnotify/

If you also need the python bindings that go along with libnotify, you can find the required package here:
http://slackbuilds.org/repository/12...notify-python/

That worked! Thanks for the point in the right direction. Just wish google had come up with libnotify for -lnotify.
Artha is up and running.

In case anyone is curious, artha is a thesauras based on WordWeb.

http://artha.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Download

Two dependencies:

WordNet - http://wordnet.princeton.edu/wordnet/download/

And the above libnotify.

I also used src2pkg for WordNet and artha.
