weird font ?

I seem to have some type of font problem in my web browser.

For instance if I look at the signature of lq member xushi (as in thread 238669 post#7)
it looks like a row of distorted dominoes, If I try to paste this to knotes it shows up as a
line of boxes. This same problem shows up randomly on many websites.

This only seems to happen when running slackware. I'm basically a noob so maybe
missing something obvious.?

It is a charset problem, the system dont know how to handle theases stranges characters.

I have the same problem when i receive strange spam into my thunderbird running in FC3.
