we are geeks its sort of offcial
Hello all
i dont post very often but loved the headline paragraph of this review of suse 10.3 http://www.itwire.com/content/view/14778/1090/ regards todders |
Targeted at geeks? I didn't think P.V and the slackware team worried about marketing and audiences. But seriously, most people using linux are at least slightly geeky. This isn't bad, computer hacking skills are cool now.
p.s. you should watch the Dilbert cartoon in my signature. |
*tips glasses* I resent that comment. :tisk:

I can understand that Gentoo should definitely be there, maybe even Slackware, but not so sure about Debian. I mean how hard is it to apt-get ? I guess they'd have to be in that order then.

Debian has the currently undeserved reputation of being difficult to install. I'm not especially geeky, and I found Etch easy to install.
Slackware - well I agree you have to be at least slightly geeky, but that's partly why I love it. |
The geek shall inherit the Earth.

I think it's good this way. Geeks get all the girls :D

And geek girls are the hottest ;)

Slackware..and geeks? Come on, finding mushrooms is more geeky than using something that simply works.
|
I would delete debian and place arch or crux instead, but if you remember the pre sarge days, installing debian was hard for newbies. I remember downloading lots of iso images for potato 2.2 and giving up after the 6th time (my newbie days) :)
|
Maybe they are talking about Debian GNU/Hurd version. :D

I'm a headbanging, 4-wheel truck driving, known for my evil mind, geek.

We live in a point and click world. In todays world anyone with a few live brain cells between their ears is called a geek.
