Want to change the Background ..

Hey .. I wanna change the Background...of the windowmanager while loading..ie...when my KDE gets ..loaded..it simply puts an ageold screenshot of some plain blue mosaic which I have got bored looking at..Now I wanna ..make a change....I am asking about the Screen Display that comes behind the Dialog box..which appears for entering Username and Password...at the time of logging in..I have done some ground work with the /etc/inittab and /etc/rc.d/rd.S ..but of no avail...some one please help me out....

As far as I know, go to the "Control Panel", select System | Login Manager. there you will see a background tab. Just make the changes there.

This is the command I use:

wmsetbg path/to/wallpaper.jpg

I put it in my .xinitrc file in the home directory so it happens when i startx. You can issue it in a terminal as well. I use it in flux, but I hear it works fine in WM too.

Be sure to put a '&' at the end of your last line that loads the WM. The & tells it to continue to the next command. You can put other stuff there too. I have it starting gkrellm there.
