w00t! Got NFS setup!

Linux is so addictive. I used this site to set up my second linux box as an MP3 file server.

word.

NFS is really easy to use and setup. just a fair warning though... NFS (despite how easy it may seem) can be a very hairy beast.

if you have an NFS mount to another machine, and that machine happens to be removed from the network for some reason, it can cause a multitude of problems on the mounting machine.

so keep very careful track of your mounts...

Thanks for the tip. Is there a switch/option you can pass with mount to automatically unmount when there is inactivity for x minutes?
