vsftpd and users question

Im totaly new to Linux and went with Slackware 10.1,

I have Apache/Mysql/VSFTPD installed and running ok so far. My problem is that when a user logs into the server with ftp they can leave their home/www/username directory and brose the server directory structure.

When I use adduser I put each user under the users group and under /home/www/username for the home dir. The susername dir is also set to the DocumentRoot for each virtual host

My question is how do I set it up so that each user cant go outside of their home dir when they ftp in?. Do I have to have each user under a different group?
