I have an IBM Thinkpad R51 on a port replicator. The video card is an Intel 82855GM chipset and I'm using the i810 video driver for X.
The port replicator specs can be found here (
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...cid=MIGR-45922).
Using the port replicator, I can already see an issue when using the physical console. It appears to be trying to display at 1024x768 but the screen is shifted to the left and not centered. Upon logging in, I get the screen centered and rendered at the 1280x960 resolution I have chosen.
Now, I have installed RealVNC Enterprise and configured it to provide Native X display support (
http://www.realvnc.com/products/enterprise/4.4/x0.html) using the vnc.so module.
When I connect to the x console through VNC now, I get a scrambled image. Also, it appears to be displaying it at 2048x2048 resolution... not sure why.

Can someone please help me figure this out? Is it the i810 driver that isn't able to deal with this?
I have started vnc the normal way (not console) and I'm able to connect and view the virtual desktop just fine. It's only a problem with viewing the console.
Thanks!
