VMWare Workstation, Slackware64 14.0, FAIL

Fresh install of Slackware64 14.0 with kernel 3.7.8 and am trying to install VMWare Workstation 9, however it'll go half way through the install before uninstalling and then quitting. I have the version.h linked to the proper area, but it makes no difference. This worked fine on my other system with kernel 3.7.6 and the symbolic link to version.h, however despite creating a version.h for the 3.7.8 tree it won't install properly. I feeling like I've missed a step, but can't remember for the life of me what it was. Anyone with any suggestions? Thanks.

Sorry, it's been quite a long batttle, but I forgot that "--ignore-errors" is necessary for 3.7.x kernels...
