VLC browser plugin not showing on firefox 24.1.1

I've installed npapi-vlc-20130818-x86_64-1alien.txz package along with vlc, but unfortanetly firefox doesn't show it under Tools > Add-ons > plugins. I opened Opera and it shows without a problem.

I want to use a greasemonkey extension to view swf files, but I need the vlc web plugin to work. It's because of the firefox or the plugin version it is not working out?

Hello, not sure if this helps but have you tried the plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...flash/?src=api
also check: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...9/#post5071635 ?

I gave up on firefox. On all browsers that I tested the plugin, it worked normaly but firefox. I've tested on Chromium and I'm very happy with it. Work like a charm. Thanks for the tip anyway.

No problem (sorry they didn't work for you,) good luck and have fun.

(In a pinch) I've had to use chromium a few times lately, stinking google and adoby are getting as bad as microcoughed. Freedom ain't free. ;)
