Virginia Kopacz’s Computer (2)

Hi all,

Newly upgraded Slackware 14, and just about to set up my printer, when under the CUPS web interface I noticed this printer already attached to my system.

Anyone else seen this?

Anyway, never owned an Epson printer, have no idea who Virginia Kopacz is and don't run a network in that address range.

Bug maybe?

Wireless connection perhaps?

Is it possible that you are picking up a unsecured wireless network from a neighbor?

edit:
Oooops, NyteOwl beat me to it.

vdemuth 11-13-2012 04:23 PM

Never occurred to me that that could be the case. Anyway, did a scan of wireless networks in the vicinity and you are both correct. Found an unsecured network on that network addressing range.
Just freaked me out for a moment.

Hey ho, we live and learn.

Thanks both.

I'll bet if you start printing the daily newspaper to there printer they will secure it. lol

edit:
Better yet send -

Or send a print message that you'd be willing to assist your neighbor fixing their issue.

That is the best suggestion!
