Hello,
There is not any linux support for usb vimicro pc camera (vm301b) on the supplied CD.
Is it anyone that has a clue about linux support for installing?
Thank you.

Plug it in while running "tail -f /var/log/messages". You will get some information that may be useful in identifying the chipset of the camera. Copy that information and google it. (No, I'm not being a smart ass, that what I just did with a generic webcam with very good results).
Hi eelriver,
Thank you very much for the information. Following tail -f /var/log/messages I obtained ac8/301b/100 which has been googled. There was only one site found in French, but due the fact I speak this language also, it was perfect. Finally it worked, the driver could have been installed, but for spcagui there was a need for urpmi (I guess that this is red hat command) for installing libjepg and libsdl (?). I skipped these two steps, beeing notified by the pkgtool that the libjpg is installed and I could not find any libsdl. After make and make install, the camera functioned using spagui. The quality is not the same as in win, despite I may select different sizes and resolutons. I expect whenever the project for gaim-vv will be finalized to integrate the sending of sound and video cam to Yahoo friends.
Best regards,

That's very odd, since Slackware has included SDL (Simple DirectMedia Layer - the Open Source equivalent of Microsoft's DirectX if you will) since at least 8.1 (according to the Slackware website Package Browser).
