Video Problem at console

I just put Slackware 12 on an old Compaq Presario 5000 desktop. It works real well in console and I will be using it that way. 1 problem...the video is regular vga (that's the only video console that works in /etc/lilo.conf). I want the lettering smaller (at least 800 X 600 resolution) but any other video setting doesn't work. I get this about the video from lspci:

VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82810E DC-133 (CGC) Chipset Graphics Controller (rev 03)

How can I get smaller video with this integrated video?

You might also check out "man setfont" and try another console font.
