video editing: LiVES libjack JVC HDD camcorder

Hi all,

I just got a new JVC HDD camcorder (GZ-MG130u) it has a 30GB hd built in and I can mount and browse the file contents. There are two basic file types with extensions .moi and .mod

I tried a quick google for the file types but found nothing helpful, so I googled for an opensource video editor and found LiVES I d/led and ./configure --prefix=/opt/lives but get this warning:

Code:
 *******************************************************************
It is recommended that you install/upgrade libjack, libjack-devel
and jackd before compiling LiVES.

For more details, see: http://jackaudio.org

*******************************************************************
I went to http://jackaudio.org/ and d/led the latest + compiled / installed, edited /etc/ld.so.conf to include /opt/jack-0.103.0/lib and ran ldconfig.

problem is I still get the same error (about updating/installing libjack)

I also did this:
Code:
for file in /opt/jack/lib/* ; do
ln -s $file /usr/local/lib/$(basename $file)
done
which didn't help either..

any help?

doh.. fixed by doing this:
Code:
for file in /opt/jack-0.103.0/lib/* ; do ln -vs $file /usr/local/include/$(basename $file) ; done
in case anyone else finds this problem.
