Video card problems?
 

Hi all, when loading tuxracer in konsole i get:

Im using Slackware 10.1. PIII 800mhz, 128mb 133mhz SDRAM, Graphics are I815 (Onboard Intel).

Im guessing if tuxracer wont work alot of stuff wont. Any idea on why this is happening and/or how to fix this problem?

If you want to play games in linux I would suggest a nvidia card.
You may be able to get direct rendering with mesa;
http://www.mesa3d.org/
But not sure how good it is...
Also you may want to add some ram

I havent, no. Added it. It seems familiar, i think in a previous install of slackware i used it to fix something?

Let me know if you get it to work. I have tried just about everything. Setting the DRI on the xorg, changing to 16 bit, etc. Next computer I get will have an nvidia card.

Have you added yourself to the video group in /etc/group?

I havent no :/ i thought adding that "DRI" section to my xorg.conf did that (oops).

Easisest way is as root run:(Where 'dave2005' is your Slackware username, and -G is followed by every group you are also a member of apart from 'users'. In this case, I reccommend video, cdrom, disk and audio (possibly also 'wheel' if you plan to use sudo and limit who can use it)).

Used that command but still getting the same thing, when running tuxracer the screen goes funny shades of white and green, can hear the music in the background.
