Hi Didier Spaier,
Using UUID, EXT4-fs (sdb1), could not mount:

Code:
Kernel panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)
SYNTAX used:

Code:
hugesmp.s root="UUID=9b9fdb38-45f9-438b-b59c-83ffb6bbeccf" rdinit= ro rootdelay=30
Seems strange that the SW 14.0 thumb drive has never had its access LED turn on??

Hi,

This 32GB Verbatim was replaced under warrantee. The new thumb drive now displays the access LED turn on ok, but still fails to boot:

Code:
VFS: Cannot open root device "802" or unknown-block (8,2)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option.

Hey Michael!

Using this suggestion of yours, I got the second try to fly! Could the media, that the installer loaded the Slackware Full Package to, handle this complete boot code:

Code:
hugesmp.s root=/dev/sdb2 rdinit= ro rootdelay=30
without the assistance of the installer DVD?

Regards,
