/usr/lib/libX11.so: error adding symbols: File in wrong format

I am trying to install ois as a dependency for mygui, but I get this error. I am on the latest current using sbopkg with the master branch.

I've seen this "File in wrong format" before but I don't believe I ever resolved the issue so assistance would be greatly appreciated.

https://slackbuilds.org/faq/#multilib

you have to edit the SlackBuild as explained in the link above and run it manually

*or*

if you feel confident, you can also rename your /usr/lib directory like /usr/lib.bak, build the thing, then rename it back as /usr/lib

Oh, duh! I always forget about that caveat of multilib.
