In search to reduce internet browsing resources, found a post discussing alternative browsers. Downloaded midori4 from slackbuilds.org, built it per slackbuid instructions and what a pleasant surprise. On Xfce 4.6.2- Faster than firefox, clean, and light true to open source, compliments slackware. Anyone else running midori? Anyone know how to configure it for audio/video?

There is: '/home/user/.config/midori/extensions/libaddons.so/addons' (empty file).

I'm assuming the 'addons' file is where addon information goes - but need some help? Can I copy plug-ins from Firefox ? (I'm also doing engine searches on this question.)

Midori's okay. It's no better than FireFox as I've used both, but it's decent and lightweight.

It's part of the Xfce-extras project so usually the majority of those packages aren't included with Slackware. Have fun with it though but do be aware it's HTML5 capabilities are not as developed as FireFox's.

I don't use midori, but the xfce faq page talks about using addons and exporting mozillas plugins http://wiki.xfce.org/midori/faq

There is another very good browser even ligher than Midori , Luakit, try that one also you'll be even more surprised.

Firefox has gotten too slow and fat with no added benefit. Viewing flashy adds is too aggravating & invasion of my time & head. Compelled on a quest for a sane browser to rummage through an insane web and glean some information. I'm tired of being assaulted by gratuitous marketing wizardry.
Thank you for your experience, time, link, and recommendation. I most certainly will look at Luakit now & see if I can install or build it.

Ill go a bit out of topic but just a bit, there is a way to block manualy most of that junk bandwidth eater thing called ads, honestly, all that is just mental polution, for those that doesn't understand why, read about how subconscious work and affect us.

@ukiuki Thank you for the links, I know what marketing wizardry is built on, its goals & who supports it.
Would like to try Luakit. Not sure how to install it or build it for Slackware? Wonder if I could use ArchLinux's pkg? Midori4 is a bit faster than firefox & I was able to export mozzilla path plugins from my local .bashrc...
This is an aside fun project for me, main thing right now is learning to write with LaTeX, teTeX, and emac - its another post. Stay well

Midori crashes if I open too many windows, tabs... might be the extensions which I need for Video Tuts. 5 tabs or/and windows.
Might be the extensions.
Also lost my Location Entry Box.
