Which irc client are you using? There's usually a way to override the automatically generated names.

Ahh, I've never used irc over pidgin so I'm of no use to you. Both xchat and irssi let you change this stuff quite easily though.

Nothing too configure, The 'connect' dialog that pops up just allows you to type in your own , nick name, real name and user name.

xchat = gui app,
irssi = cli app.

Accounts -> Manage Accounts

Select the account, click Modify and then select the advanced tab

The "Real name" should be the one to change

For anonymous chatting, you might want to follow my wiki: http://docs.slackware.com/howtos:software:irssi_on_tor

From weechat I can see my personal data, I will try with "username" and "realname" but I think that for default has the name of the user that runs the system, I mean, if I have logged as "mazingerz", the name will be "mazingerz" when I log in or log out. Sorry for english. Thanks!

Yes, I have executed (on weechat):

/set irc.server.freenode.username "username"
/set irc.server.freenode.realname "first and last"

It seems to work fine at the moment, thanks to all!
