I'm now thinking this uselessd is just a joke. I mean, the whole site is set up as a joke, it doesn't all add up. It's probably exactly what the title says "useless".

It's pronounced as "use less d", not "useless d".

It's both. It's useless in that nobody wants or needs it (especially on FreeBSD or any BSD at all), and it uses less in regards to systemd's full functionality. From the website:

Useless because it reduplicates about a half dozen init systems yet again, and use less because it offers the systemd init method, but without all the unwanted toys.
