Use xmms to stream audio, not gxine

Running Slackware 10.2 on a new desktop.

Is there anyway that I can configure XMMS to be the default streaming audio player, instead of gxine?

please be more clear: wath are you talking about? are you talking about mms over internet? or are you talking about the "default" player opened by your system to listen to /view streams?

If I were to click a url from

http://www.somafm.com

gxine begins playing.

While I like gxine, I would like to have the option of using xmms instead.

Is there anyway I can switch it so that firefox uses xmms to play streaming audio instead of gxine?

Hope this is more clear...

Hi JockVSJock.

If you use KDE, you cant adjust these settings in "Control Panel ---> KDE Components ---> File associations.

For Firefox, go to preferences ---> Downloads ---> View & edit actions.

Good luck
