Use 2 video cards at notebook

Hi, my notebook uses 2 video cards: inegrated intel and extrnal nvidia video card.I use 14.00 version of slackware.

How to make is use like:
- use intel card when on battery (ac/dc power OFF)
- use nvidia card when on ac/dc power ON (NOT using battery)

How to do this ? Well is it done by default or how becouse system detects both graphic cards, but I didn't find any information in system settings (kde) how to enable it or what ever - I was looking at power management and hardware section.

Also while searching web I have found this article http://blog.tpa.me.uk/2010/04/09/con...-on-slackware/
How about nouveau is nowdays ? Shall I disable it and install official nvidia drivers to get full functional nvidia graphic card ? I need nvidia card for graphics rendering (for blender mostly).

Hi, welcome to LQ.

See here.

More generally, a lot of useful information is provided by The Slackware Documentation Project.

Ough, it has started running after I have installed Bumblebee, thank you!

But there is one bad thing about it, with Bumblebee (by default at least) I get my nvidia working only when i run application with "optirun" like "optirun applicationName" in console. Is it somehow possible to run ALL applications with NVIDIA when ON BATTERY and run ALL applications with INTEL when ON AC/DC ?

I don't know. But to investigate further, if not already done I'd suggest you have a look here.

EDIT. You could try bbswitch and/or have a look at this about VGA Switcheroo I wrote a while ago.

daf1kpp: I also have an integrated Intel with a discrete Nvidia card. Most of the time I'm doing work at a console or light web browsing, so I've currently got my BIOS set to go with just the Intel card.
If you get this working with the switch being whether you're on battery power or not, I'd be interested in hearing how you set it up.
