usb-uhci question with VMware

I'm finally getting VMware working decently, but I'm still getting an error box with the following:

VMware workstation has detected the alternate UHCI host controller driver ("uhci") for USB.
Using USB devices within a virtual machine is unsupported with this driver loaded.
Please use the "usb-uhci" UHCI driver instead.

How can I change from "uhci" to "usb-uhci"?

I should add that I'm using Slackware 9.1 with the original kernel (I didn't update to 2.6.x).

Go into /etc/rc.d/rc.modules and comment out the uhci line (put a # in front of it) so it looks like this:

# /sbin/modprobe uhci

Then add the following line to the bottom of that file

/sbin/modprobe usb-uhci

That will take care of the issue on a reboot.

If you want to test it out without rebooting, remove the uhci module by typing in this as root at a command prompt:

rmmod uhci

and insert the usb-uhci by typing this as root:

modprobe usb-uhci

Then fire up VMware again and all should be well.
