USB Thumb Drive

I recently got Slackware going and with a little work was able to figure out how to put my flashdrive in the fstab. It worked great for about 2 days and now it says it no longer exists so I went to the /dev folder and checked and sda1 was no longer there:confused:. I thought perhaps if I just linked the fstab to sda2 that it might work but alas, nothing. Any ideas would be appreciated

Could you post the contents of /proc/bus/usb/devices please?

My guess is that the device isn't being detected by your system at all any more. You should see something with the contents "Driver=usb-storage". If you don't see that, then the flash key hasn't been seen by the system.

Best bet is to first unplug and reconnect the device. If that hasn't detected it, reboot. If that hasn't detected it, check to make sure that hotplug is still running. Failing that, could you let us know what happened so we can continue?

And a few simple questions that may allow us to skip the process: Have you recently upgraded/installed/uninstalled *anything*? Has *anything* changed in your system since the last time it worked? If so, then that's probably what caused the problem.

Thanks for the help. I had forgot that I recently updated some stuff so I reverted that and the problem corrected itself.
