Usb printing and camera

I run slack 9, and i have a canon S520 usb printer, and an Olympus S400, but i use a Flash card reader, i would like to know how to get them working on slack,

for the printer, i have tried useing :
@slackbox#dmesg | grep usb
and it detects the printer, but dosen't give a location

for the flash card reader i used the same method, and there is another entry that i am sure is the card reader, but dosen't state a location :\

thnx lots

my usb printer attaches to /dev/usb/lp0 and my flash card reader (sandisk sddr-55) is at /dev/sda1.

have you checked to make sure your card reader is even supported by linux, not all of them are. you might try googling for <model> linux support
